If two people must sign, plan for both
We cannot notarize a missing spouse “real quick” over the phone. If the paper requires both of you, book when both can appear as required, or schedule two visits if that is how the document works. Whether one signature is enough is a question for the issuer or an attorney, not for us.
Scheduling patterns that usually work
- Early evening at home after both are back
- Lunch-hour meeting at one workplace if visitors are allowed
- Weekend morning before sports and errands
- One shared location (home, office lobby, or quiet cafe with a table) instead of two car trips

- Acceptable ID for each signer
- A clear table and enough light
- Extra time if kids or pets will interrupt
