Under Missouri law, a notary who is not an attorney shall not assist another person in drafting, completing, selecting, or understanding a document or transaction requiring a notarial act (RSMo 486.675). We will not tell you which form to use, how to fill it out, or whether you “need” a particular paper. For those questions, talk to a licensed Missouri attorney or the agency that issued the form. What to bring
- The finished POA pages (not a blank template you want us to fill out)
- Photo ID for every person who must sign
- Any witnesses the document or your attorney already requires
- Time and a clear table
What we can and cannot do
We can: complete the notarial act the document already calls for when the right people appear with ID.
We cannot: draft a POA, choose a template, explain what powers it grants, or advise on banking or medical decisions. That is attorney territory (RSMo 486.675).
Steps
- Have an attorney (or the issuing office) finish the document first.
- Do not leave legal blanks for the notary to decide.
- Text or call for a time when every required signer can appear.
- Bring ID. Sign in the notary’s presence as required.
- Ask your attorney how to use or record the signed POA. We do not advise on that.
